COMPENSATION: $110,000 - $130,000

DESCRIPTION:

Zaden Technologies is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support our mission of automating a smarter future through specialized DevSecOps solutions with a strong focus on defense and space systems. In this role, you will provide cybersecurity and information assurance expertise to ensure that modeling and simulation tools are designed and accredited to function securely in both local environments and across various networks. You will work closely with software development teams to implement security protocols and ensure compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidelines.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide Cybersecurity/Information Assurance expertise for modeling and simulation tools developed for defense clients
• Support documentation updates as described in MIL-STD 3022 for continued accreditation of planning tools
• Assist in DADMS and NMCI certification processes while ensuring compliance with RMF for DoD Information Technology protocols
• Guide software development teams in security best practices as applications are migrated to cloud environments (SaaS)
• Support the development of security protocols for networking, Validation and Verification (V&V), and certification
• Help prepare and maintain program protection plans using system security engineering practices
• Conduct security assessments and provide recommendations for addressing vulnerabilities
• Deliver training on secure software development best practices to the software development team

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related technical field
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years specifically in DoD environments
• Knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53, and DoD security authorization processes
• Experience with cloud security and securing applications in distributed environments
• Understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure software development lifecycle
• Familiarity with DoD IA documentation requirements and certification processes
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex security concepts to non-security personnel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active security clearance
• Security+, CISSP, CEH, or other relevant security certifications
• Experience with NIPRNet, SIPRNet, or JWICS security requirements
• Previous experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes
• Familiarity with containerization security and Kubernetes security controls
• Experience with automation tools for security scanning and compliance checking
• Knowledge of AI/ML integration with security systems
• Experience in defense or space systems security
