We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our growing team in the greater DC area. In this role, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day system administration, infrastructure operations, and continuous monitoring of classified cloud environments. This position offers hybrid work arrangements for qualified candidates who meet security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive system, web, and database administration to maintain operational cloud-based systems
- Configure, monitor, and maintain multi-environment CI/CD pipelines in AWS GovCloud
- Implement and monitor Docker/Kubernetes container orchestration
- Support application deployments through automated release pipelines
- Maintain Authorization & Assessment documentation, vulnerability scanning, and security compliance activities
- Manage security patching, updates, and mitigations for cloud infrastructure and applications
- Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for environment provisioning
- Perform access control and user management
- Configure and maintain monitoring tools for system performance, security, and compliance
- Support incident response and troubleshooting of production issues
- Coordinate with development teams to improve DevSecOps practices and deployment automation
- Develop and maintain relevant system documentation and training materials
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
- 2+ years experience performing cloud-based system maintenance, troubleshooting, and security operations
- 1 year experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure providers
- Demonstrated experience with container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
- Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53, RMF, STIG)
- Experience supporting system accreditation and continuous monitoring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Active security clearance
- Experience supporting planning, design, and implementation of commercial cloud infrastructures in a DoD setting
- Experience with automating cloud deployments
- AWS Cloud certifications
- Experience with DoD cloud deployments
- Knowledge of microservices architectures
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with database administration
- Experience with chaos engineering and resilience testing
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)

The pay range for this role is:
112,270 - 142,209 USD per year (All Locations)
