About the role:
We're a seed-stage startup looking for our Founder's first hire in the office of the CEO - a sharp, versatile operator who wants to learn how a company is built from the ground up.

This is not an administrative role. It's an apprenticeship in entrepreneurship.

As a Founder's Associate, you'll work side-by-side with the CEO across every function of the business: strategy, fundraising, operations, product, and growth. One day you'll be building a financial model for a board meeting; the next you'll be researching a new market vertical or sitting in on a call with a lead investor. You'll also handle the operational rhythm that keeps the CEO focused - managing priorities, preparing for meetings, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

We're specifically looking for recent graduates or early-career professionals from business, finance, economics, computer science, or engineering backgrounds who want a front-row seat to company growth.

This role has the opportunity to grow path into a Chief of Staff or Operations Lead.

Who you are:

  • Ambitious and entrepreneurial. You want to build something, not just support something. You see this role as a launchpad, not a landing pad.
  • Analytically sharp. You're comfortable in spreadsheets, can build a financial model or parse a dataset, and you think in frameworks. A background in business, finance, CS, or engineering is a strong plus.
  • An exceptional communicator. You write clearly and concisely - whether it's a board memo, a Slack message, or an email sent on behalf of the CEO. You can translate complex ideas into clean slides and compelling narratives.
  • Relentlessly organized. You build systems, not just to-do lists. You create processes that ensure nothing falls through the cracks - and you hold yourself and others accountable to them.
  • High EQ, low ego. You can read a room, anticipate needs before they're spoken, and handle sensitive information with complete discretion. You're just as willing to book a flight as you are to prep a board deck.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity. Startups are messy. You thrive when the playbook hasn't been written yet and you're the one writing it.

What you'll do:

  • Strategy & High-Impact Projects
    • Research & Analysis: Conduct deep dives on competitors, market opportunities, potential partners, and emerging trends to inform the CEO's decision-making.
    • Fundraising Support: Help prepare investor decks, financial models, and data rooms. Sit in on investor meetings and track follow-ups.
    • Presentations & Communications: Build and refine pitch decks, board updates, internal memos, and briefing materials for speaking engagements and panels.
    • Cross-Functional Projects: Act as a proxy for the CEO - drive special projects across product, sales, and operations, ensuring momentum and accountability.
    • Data & Insights: Pull together dashboards, KPI tracking, and ad-hoc analyses that help the leadership team make faster, better decisions.
  • Operations & Founder Support
    • Priority Management: Own the CEO's calendar and daily workflow, ensuring time is ruthlessly aligned with the company's highest-leverage priorities.
    • Meeting Prep & Follow-Through: Make sure the CEO walks into every meeting with the right context and that action items are captured and driven to completion afterward.
    • Communications Triage: Monitor and manage email and message flow - drafting responses, flagging what's urgent, and routing what can be delegated.
    • Logistics & Coordination: Handle travel, team offsites, and operational tasks that keep the Founder focused on building the business.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Finance, or Liberal Arts preferred).
  • 0–3 years of experience (internships, startups, or consulting roles are a plus).
  • Tech-savvy: Expert in G-Suite (Calendar, Sheets, Slides) and comfortable learning new tools quickly (Notion, Slack, CRM tools).
  • Availability to work somewhat flexible hours as startup needs arise.

Where You'll Be:

We offer flexibility in your work location! For this role, you just need to be based within the US, allowing you to work where you feel most productive

Why This Role?

  • Learn by doing. You'll get more exposure to company-building in two years here than in most MBA programs -fundraising, hiring, product, sales, and operations, all at once.
  • Direct mentorship. You'll work alongside the CEO daily and build relationships with investors, advisors, and partners across the ecosystem.
  • A real career path. This role is explicitly designed as a stepping stone. We expect you to grow into a Chief of Staff, Head of Operations, or functional leadership role within the company - and we'll invest in making that happen.

What Zivian Has for You:

  • A set of core values that help guide how we grow our organization:
    • Build with Intention
    • Trust and be Trusted
    • Lift as We Climb
  • A dynamic, diverse, and collaborative work environment.
  • Fast-paced startup culture full of growth minded colleagues.
  • A distributed team with opportunities for in-person collaboration.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • A supportive, non-competitive work environment where the team truly cares about one another.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Flexibility in work location.
