About the role
As a Senior Production Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, goods, and services to meet the company's operational needs. You will work closely with various departments to lead complex sourcing initiatives, optimize supplier networks, and implement data-driven procurement strategies that align with our organizational objectives.
The role requires excellent negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers, conducting market research, and staying up to date with industry trends. The successful candidate will have a proven record of reducing costs, improving supplier performance, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products.
What you'll do
· Procurement of automotive production parts and supplies.
· Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for multiple categories, ensuring cost savings, quality improvements, and supply chain resilience.
· Implement and maintain advanced procurement tools, including e-sourcing platforms and analytics dashboards.
· Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
· Collaborate with finance, operations, engineering, and legal to align procurement activities with broader business goals.
· Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
· Manage supplier relationships and performance.
· Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and industry trends.
· Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and logistics teams.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
· Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management.
· Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
· Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers.
· Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
· Develop and maintain a supplier database.
· Evaluate and improve procurement processes and procedures.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
· 3+ years of Automotive Production sourcing and purchasing experience required.
· Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), or APICS CPIM certification is a plus.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
· Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Proven record of delivering at least 10% annual cost reductions through strategic sourcing.
· Experience with international sourcing and procurement.
· Bilingual in Mandarin is a plus.
· Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation capabilities.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Strong negotiation and contract management skills
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a (global) team.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
· Ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Work Environment
· Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and may include some travel.
· Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
