This role will be located in Vancouver and is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.

How You'll Contribute

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Developer to join this team to expand and improve our scientific computing stack. You will collaborate with scientists and developers to protein modeling frameworks, applications, and libraries, as well as helping to develop data management, visualization, and analysis tools.

What You'll Do

• Create browser-based visualizations, user interfaces for web applications, scientific applications, and data analysis tools tailored to our scientists' R&D needs
• Collaborate with scientists and bioinformaticians to condense complex requirements, design prototypes, and deploy production grade software for internal users
• Participate in peer code reviews, regression testing, and systematic deployments
• Integrating and maintaining the developed software as part of the entire computational platform
• Experiment with new technologies and ideas to enhance the maintainability, simplicity, and robustness of our platform

What You'll Bring

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
• 5 or more years of industry experience in full-stack web application development
• Proficiency in Python language, related tools and frameworks
• Proven ability to create fit-for-purpose end-to-end software applications while working directly with end-users
• Proven ability to assume ownership of a web application including design, implementation, and maintenance
• In depth knowledge of web application testing and deployment best practices
• Experience mentoring junior software developers

Nice to Have

• Experience developing servers and other infrastructure using Go, and/or Elixir
• Experience leading or mentoring other web developers in a technical capacity
• Experience in database management, migration, rollback policies and other best practices, specifically SQL and PostgreSQL
• Experience with git and GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD systems and deployment strategies

The base salary range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the location for which the job is posted and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
