About the Role

As a Sales Manager, you’ll build and lead a high-performing team of Sales Design Consultants, playing a key role in driving market growth, increasing revenue, and expanding our customer reach. You’ll be responsible for recruiting top talent, developing your team through coaching and training, and creating a culture of accountability and success. This role is ideal for a strong leader who is passionate about developing people, driving results, and making a direct impact on the success and growth of the business.


General Summary of Position

As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible to hire, train, and motivate successful Sales Design Consultants to increase market share, sales revenue, and profitability.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Drive sales performance and revenue growth by setting goals, leading sales meetings, motivating Design Consultants, conducting coaching sessions, and participating in joint sales calls to improve individual and team results.
  • Monitor sales pipeline and team performance by reviewing leads, appointments, conversions, and signings on a daily basis; meeting regularly with Design Consultants to assess progress against individual budgets; and developing action plans to improve performance where needed.
  • Lead, develop, and retain the sales team by recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training Design Consultants on sales techniques, industry knowledge, systems, and administrative processes while creating development plans for underperforming team members.
  • Optimize lead generation and conversion processes by partnering with Lead Managers to evaluate key metrics (calls, appointment setting, source performance, and scheduling effectiveness) and implementing strategies to improve conversion rates.
  • Ensure consistent execution of the sales process and tools by reinforcing the use of company sales platforms, approved proposals, and established selling methodologies, while monitoring pricing and adjusting as needed to meet margin and MI goals.
  • Support sales strategy, budgeting, and reporting by assisting in the development of annual sales and marketing budgets, preparing daily/weekly/monthly performance reports, contributing to divisional leadership materials, and analyzing market data, permit activity, and competitive trends to identify opportunities.
  • Drive customer satisfaction and business development efforts by following up on customer concerns and cancellations, supporting issue resolution related to construction and service, building relationships with builders, real estate agents, and the community, assisting with advertising initiatives, and completing additional duties in alignment with company objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education

Bachelor’s degree required

Licenses/Certifications

 

Years of Experience

5+ years of experience in sales, preferably in-home B to C.

 

3+ years in sales management role supervising a commissioned-based sales team.

 

2-4 years of Marketing experience.

Required Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated communication, negotiating, problem solving, analytical and financial skills.

 

Good forecasting ability.

 

Microsoft Office; strong proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.

 

Working knowledge of CRM.

 

Proven leadership skills, creative and forward thinking with the ability to teach, develop and coach subordinates.

 

Proven record of setting and achieving performance objectives.

 

Effective communication skills, both written and oral.  Strong interpersonal skills.

 

Ability to multitask and prioritize.

 

Strong time management and organizational skills.

 

Self-starting and directed, enthusiastic and positive work ethic and management style

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily sedentary work performed in an office environment
  • Ability to communicate promptly and clearly via phone and computer
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds; often greater than 30 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Ability to wear required PPE (e.g., hard hats, safety boots, gloves)
  • Ability to drive or travel between job sites as needed
