CAD/PLM Engineer

Role Overview

The CAD/PLM Engineer is responsible for the administration, management, and end-user support of the Teamcenter PLM and NX CAD systems. This role is responsible for ensuring system availability, reliability, and the smooth day-to-day operation of these platforms for end users. The engineer works closely with design engineering, manufacturing, IT, and external partners to maintain system integrity, improve engineering processes, and enable efficient collaboration. Key responsibilities include end-user support, PLM system administration, CAD integration support, and product data management.


What You'll Do...

  • Provide front-line support for Siemens Teamcenter and NX CAD users, including troubleshooting and resolving common user issues
  • Assist in CAD workstation setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance
  • Support user onboarding by helping configure accounts, permissions, and software profiles in Teamcenter
  • Investigate root causes of recurring issues and implement preventative measures
  • Escalate complex PLM and CAD issues to senior administrators or vendors when necessary
  • Perform routine checks on CAD/PLM systems to ensure functionality and data integrity
  • Support patching, updates, configurations and installations of Teamcenter and its components (e.g., Active Workspace, Dispatcher, FMS, Visualization etc.,), Siemens NX and related engineering applications
  • Administer Teamcenter/NX license usage and provide recommendations for future needs
  • Help enforce CAD/PLM data management best practices, ensuring files are stored, versioned, and shared correctly
  • Assist in monitoring access permissions to protect controlled engineering data (ITAR/CUI) using Teamcenter Projects and other Teamcenter security functions
  • Support data backup and recovery processes as directed by senior staff
  • Provide general IT support as needed, including workstation setup, hardware/software troubleshooting, and user account assistance
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure CAD/PLM systems integrate smoothly with the broader IT environment (ERP, MES, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Participate in cross-training to develop skills in both CAD/PLM and IT systems administration

You have...

  • Have a bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering Technology, or related field; equivalent work experience considered
  • Have 8+ years of experience in Teamcenter PLM/NX CAD administration/support role
  • Experience and knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter, Active Workspace and NX applications
  • Good understanding of CAD/PLM concepts and data management best practices
  • Familiarity with Windows environments, user account management, and IT troubleshooting
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and escalate appropriately
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on more advanced CAD/PLM responsibilities over time
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance
