Position Summary 
WBK Engineering (WBK) is currently seeking a motivated individual to become a key member of the Site Development Practice group with leadership and growth opportunities. This role requires a qualified licensed Civil Engineer with background in a wide range of site civil project types and project management experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Desires to work on site development projects, often for underserved communities, on federal or Native American lands throughout the United States.
  • May serve as a supervisor, project manager, or as a designated client contact for Site Development projects. These projects are often on federal or Native American lands throughout the United States.
  • Performs and/or supervises design work that involves a variety of site development aspects including access & transportation, utilities (sewer and water supply), drainage and stormwater management, permitting, asset management and code / ordinance review and development.
  • AutoCAD proficiency with experience using Civil 3D tools desired.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely with clients, staff, peers, and the public.
  • Assists in producing pricing, estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects and assist the Site Development Practice Lead with group direction and marketing strategies.
  • Ability to be flexible to accommodate occasionally aggressive project deadlines.
  • Supervises or coordinates the work of engineers, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments delegating project tasks to other Design and Project Engineers at WBK.
  • Perform or oversee junior staff to perform occasional site visits during construction for verification of construction progress.
  • Ability to receive broad direction from Practice Group Lead and understand the required tasks and subtasks to complete the project on time and within budget with limited guidance from the Site Development Practice Lead.
  • Performs work requiring the use of engineering judgment and experience to complete routine and complex tasks. 
  • Uses judgement to address unique circumstances that may include conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
  • Collaborates with other practice groups within WBK to facilitate project deadlines, marketing strategies and overall success of the enterprise.
  • Willingness and ability for occasional weeklong out-of-state travel.
 Qualifications and Experience
Required Education and Degree: Bachelor's degree in an ABET accredited Civil Engineering program. 

Required Experience and Certification:
  • Six to ten years of applicable civil engineering experience 
  • Must possess the knowledge and expertise to teach, train, or mentor staff members on matters pertaining to civil engineering plans and specifications
  • Ability to simultaneously work in a team setting and set and keep individual task goals is a must
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to become licensed 
Preferred Experience and Certification:
  • Past experience with leading engineering projects in a consultant environment is highly desirable
  • Past experience with site development projects
Required Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Projects, and Teams
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for full plan set production
Preferred Technical Skills:
  • Bluebeam Revu
Working Environment
When not working from a home office, remotely or onsite at a project location, most of this role is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. On occasion, there may be exposure to loud office or technical machinery during its’ operation. 
 
Additionally, this role may be required to attend site visits. During site visits, there will be exposure to a variety of environmental conditions such as being outdoor, being in indoor non-temperature-controlled environments, and maneuvering in and around various terrains and construction environments.
 
Physical Demands
  • Sitting/Standing: This role is generally sedentary performing sitting work utilizing technological office equipment including a laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, and scanners, copiers, and fax machines. During site visits, this role requires the ability to vigorously traverse various project and construction sites that will have uneven surfaces.  
  • Walking: This role requires the ability to move about inside the office to access technological equipment required for the role. During site visits, this role requires the ability to traverse various project and construction sites that will have uneven surfaces.  
  • Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: This role may require stooping to reload printer trays with print paper. During site visits, this role requires the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to examine conditions and make recommendations to the clients for planning and improvements.
  • Using Hands/Fingers: This role constantly operates technological office equipment such as laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, and scanners, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Talking/Hearing: This role requires constant communication with others in the organization to exchange information, review information, and make decisions about information. 
  • Seeing: This role requires the ability to view existing project sites and examine information to determine and make recommendations to the clients for planning and improvements.
  • Carrying/Lifting: This role requires the ability to lift up to 20lbs to transport technological office equipment to and from various workspaces.
