Position Summary
The Book Blast Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the communication, creative development, and ongoing optimization of the Book Blast program.
This role serves as the marketing owner of Book Blast, overseeing how the program is positioned, communicated, experienced and improved year over year. The Product Marketing Manager works cross-functionally with Customer Success, Sales, Operations, Creative, Technology and Marketing teams to ensure Book Blast continues to deliver strong results for schools while helping more students build home libraries.
The ideal candidate combines product thinking, marketing strategy, customer insight, and performance optimization to continually improve participation, engagement, and literacy outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the marketing manager of the Book Blast program.
Responsibilities include:
- Program positioning and messaging
- Annual program planning
- Product enhancement recommendations
- Reading engagement initiatives
- Childcare and middle school program evolution
- Parent education strategy
- Seasonal campaign development
- Program roadmap input
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
Communication Strategy
Own the communication framework that supports Book Blast participation and engagement.
Responsibilities include:
- Parent email communications
- Parent SMS communications
- Principal communications
- Teacher communications
- Sponsor communications
- Landing page messaging
- FAQ development
- Communication calendars
- Seasonal messaging updates
- Ensure all communications are clear, compelling, and aligned with program goals.
Creative & Content Development
Lead the development of customer-facing Book Blast marketing assets.
Responsibilities include:
- Treasure Maps
- Flyers
- Posters
- Launch materials
- Parent videos
- Explainer videos
- Social media content
- Email creative
- School toolkits
- Event collateral
- Reading engagement materials
- Develop creative briefs and partner with internal and external creative resources.
Performance Optimization
Identify opportunities to improve program performance across all Book Blast events.

- Registration rates
- Treasure Map completion rates
- Contribution rates
- Parent understanding
- Student engagement
- Communication performance
- Use data and customer insights to drive continuous improvement.
Incentive & Engagement Strategy
Develop and optimize participation drivers throughout the Book Blast experience.

- Student motivation programs
- Teacher motivation programs
- Treasure Chest promotions
- Drawing concepts
- Recognition programs
- Evaluate new ideas and measure their effectiveness.
Testing & Learning
Own the testing roadmap for Book Blast communications and engagement programs.

- Translate learnings into actionable program improvements.
While Customer Success owns school relationships and retention, this role owns the marketing systems, communications, creative assets, and engagement strategies that support successful events.

Qualifications
Required Experience
- 4+ years of marketing experience
- Experience developing integrated marketing campaigns
- Strong copywriting and messaging skills
- Experience managing creative projects and vendors
- Experience analyzing campaign performance and customer behavior
- Experience working cross-functionally to drive business outcomes

Pay
This is a full-time salaried role with a compensation fo $80,000/year.
