We are seeking a skilled and strategic Senior Accountant to lead the financial operations of our technology company’s Mexico entity. This role will ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational support for our hardware and software solutions business. The ideal candidate is a seasoned finance professional with experience in tech or high-growth companies, capable of managing cross-border financial activities, and driving process improvements to support our expansion in Mexico.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance:
    • Manage end-to-end financial accounting and reporting for Mexico operations, ensuring adherence to US GAAP, IFRS, and local regulations.
    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including consolidation support with US headquarters.
    • Coordinate with external auditors for audits, tax filings, and transfer pricing documentation.
  • Accounting Operations & Controls:
    • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, fixed assets, inventory accounting and Intercompany transactions.
    • Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
    • Implement and maintain internal controls aligned with global standards and local regulations.
  • Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with Mexican tax laws including VAT, SAT regulations, income tax, and other statutory filings.
    • Manage customs, import/export, and international tax considerations relevant to hardware and software sales.
    • Support tax audits and regulatory inquiries.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to track business performance.
    • Provide strategic insights on revenue recognition, margin management, and cost control specific to hardware and software sales.
  • Revenue Recognition & Contract Management:
    • Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards, especially given the mix of hardware sales, software licensing, and subscription services.
    • Support contract review processes to ensure accurate revenue and expense reporting.
  • Leadership & Team Development:
    • Lead and mentor the local finance team, fostering continuous improvement and professional development.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, legal, supply chain, and customer success.
  • Process Improvement & Automation:
    • Implement best practices for billing, collections, and revenue recognition processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with US headquarters and local teams to ensure alignment on financial strategies, compliance, and operational goals.
    • Support business growth initiatives, including new product launches or regional expansion.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, preferably within a technology or high-growth environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican GAAP, IFRS, and local tax and legal regulations impacting tech hardware and software sales.
  • Experience with US GAAP and international revenue recognition standards.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing or developing a finance team.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) and financial automation tools.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English required.
