Decision Technologies seeks a qualified 3D CAD Modeler/Drafter to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA.  A hybrid option may be available.    

 

Position Description:   

Decision Technologies is seeking a 3D CAD Modeler/Drafter to support mechanical and electrical 3D drawing development utilizing AutoCAD Inventor.

 

MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE

 

Responsibilities and Duties:  

  • Familiarity with ASME standards, with the ability to interpret and update technical drawings using government-designated tools, primarily Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling using Autodesk Inventor
  • Experience compiling native Autodesk Inventor files in preparation for Technical Data Package (TDP) delivery readiness reviews
  • Ability to compare multiple drawing revisions and provide recommendations and redlines to consolidate them into a single, updated version
  • Capability to review and update drawings to ensure compliance with current ASME standards, including providing detailed recommendations and redlines
  • Experience utilizing government-provided redline drawings to update TDP files and produce clean blackline drawings for official documentation
  • Strong attention to detail in identifying drawing errors, omissions, and inconsistencies during blackline development, with recommendations for correction
  • Ability to generate and upload PDF versions of finalized blackline drawings to government-designated repositories (e.g., SharePoint Online)

 

Required Qualifications and Skills:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience (five [5] years preferred) demonstrating a strong knowledge base and subject matter expertise in parametric modeling using Autodesk Inventor Professional
  • Proven experience developing 3D CAD models, preferably within ship design environments
  • At least one (1) year of experience demonstrating subject matter expertise in product data management using Autodesk Vault Professional

The pay range for this role is:

75,000 - 85,000 USD per year (VB)
