Job Overview:

The Coordinator supports both the Product Development and Regulatory functions throughout the New Product Development process and in maintaining the quality and compliance of the active product portfolio. This includes coordinating and tracking sample submissions, managing document collection, and following up with internal and external partners.

 

This role reports to the Senior Director of Product Development and Regulatory.


Location: Brooklyn, NY (onsite)
Salary: $66,000 + bonus


Responsibilities:

Product Development

  • Track and log sample submissions and respective formula details from contract manufacturers.
  • Ship samples to Marketing and executive leadership.
  • Test samples and provide performance feedback as needed.
  • Help coordinate internal and external performance testing including recruitment, NDAs, filling samples, and shipping + tracking samples.
  • Set up stability testing, pull stability samples on time, and help with stability evaluations.
  • Maintain inventory of PD supplies and maintain upkeep of a clean and orderly PD lab area.

Regulatory

  • Help with the compilation, organization, and maintenance of regulatory files and databases. Focus is on accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the documentation.
  • Request and track status of technical information and regulatory documentation from internal and external partners such as formula specs, stability and compatibility results, SDS, and artwork.
  • Coordinate 3rd party testing of final formulas and finished goods including shipping + tracking samples, filling out required paperwork, and monitoring testing start + end dates.
  • Assist with international product registration and compliance via 3rd party certification agencies and retailer-specific databases.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or related scientific field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience within the beauty or personal care industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management, organizational, communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Passion for the beauty industry. Willingness to learn and gain hands-on experience.
  • Must be located in New York City area. In-office 2-3x per week.
