Position Description:

FlexGen is seeking a Senior Accountant responsible for ensuring the integrity of our accounting information by recording, analyzing, and reconciling transactions and GL balances, mainly balance sheet accounts. This individual will be responsible for creating and delivering financial information as requested on a periodic basis. This individual will also support the preparation of our monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external reporting packages. The accountant will perform various monthly and yearly closing activities, accuracy verification, account reconciliation, and earnings analysis. The right person will have the ability to analyze financial information, prepare financial statements, and provide required analysis so that management has accurate and timely information for making decisions. These reports may include profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other analytics.


Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assigned monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes including assigned asset, liability, and equity account journal entries and related balance sheet reconciliations
  • Responsible for the preparation of financial reporting packages, which go to the Board of Directors
  • Responsible for maintaining the AP automation process
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining monthly flux analysis of balance sheet accounts
  • Support in the creation and definition of internal financial controls, including SOX-level as needed
  • Support with technical accounting activities, projects, and policy as directed
  • Support yearly audit
  • Support accounting group and collaborate closely with Director of Financial Systems to implement process improvements via automation and workflows to achieve a 10-day close schedule
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum 2 years related experience
  • CPA License required
  • Preferred Master’s degree in accounting (MACC)
  • Preferred experience at Big 4 accounting firm
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Experience creating and developing internal controls
  • Detail oriented with a willingness to independently investigate issues & discrepancies
  • Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and time management skills
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to quickly learn and improve multiple processes
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, NetSuite and Tipalti is a plus
  • Highly proficient in MS Office applications
  • Experience with preparation of financial journal entries and associated reconciliations
  • Experience preparing financial statements in accordance with U.S.GAAP
