You have high integrity, adaptability, and enough tech savvy to effectively use our video and access control systems.


Position Summary

As Access Control Associate, in our secure, private facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our premises, people, and assets. As the first point of contact for employees, visitors, and vendors, you will set the tone for a polished, professional experience. You will be responsible for managing access to the building and our specific floors, monitoring security cameras and alarm systems, and enforcing company security policies. This position requires a vigilant, reliable, and detail-oriented individual who is committed to creating a secure work environment.


Essential Functions

  • Open the office daily, Monday through Friday, and prepare reception and security area for the day.
  • Monitor and control who enters and exits our premises, ensuring only authorized individuals gain access.
  • Verify identification, issue temporary badges, and maintain accurate logs of visitors and personnel.
  • Coordinate with employees when visitors arrive; ensure guests are logged and connected to their host.
  • Operate and monitor electronic access control systems, surveillance equipment, and other security hardware.
  • Monitor security cameras (CCTV), intrusion alarms, and other security systems to identify potential security breaches or unusual activity.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises to deter loss and detect signs of intrusion or damage.
  • Respond to security incidents, access violations, or emergencies, escalating to appropriate personnel when necessary.
  • React immediately to alarms and incidents by assessing the situation, taking appropriate action, and initiating a resolution.
  • Receive and distribute packages, mail, and deliveries as needed. Support light administrative tasks during downtime (sorting mail, documentation, ordering/distributing supplies)
  • Collaborate with colleagues for coverage during breaks and PTO
  • Uphold and enforce company policies, security protocols, and relevant legal regulations.
  • Maintain detailed records, logs, and documentation related to access and security procedures.


Qualifications

  • A high school degree or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with various access control systems, CCTV and basic troubleshooting.
  • Detail orientation to accurately check credential and follow security protocols.
  • Ability to interact clearly and professionally with diverse individuals.
  • Capacity to handle unexpected situations and security challenges.
  • A high level of trustworthiness and discretion to safeguard sensitive information and areas.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Security Manager (CSM) preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED skills are a plus.
  • Able to lift to 30 pounds, stand or walk for long periods, and handle the physical demands of the job.
