Your Mission:

Your mission is to lead the overall strategy, performance, and execution of fleet operations across the organization. This senior leadership role oversees both customer vehicle assets, including vehicle acquisition, upfitting, vehicle delivery, lifecycle management, compliance, and remarketing; as well as the delivery of fleet services such as managed maintenance, accident management, tolls & violations, etc. The VP of Fleet Operations partners closely with executive leadership, multiple internal teams, suppliers, vendors and, importantly, our customers to ensure customer satisfaction as well as support ongoing company growth.


You will report to: Colin Sng, MD of Delivery 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic direction for the Fleet Operations organization and ensure this strategy stays aligned with company strategy and goals 
  • Continue to build out vehicle acquisition processes and systems, establishing and managing strategic relationships with key OEM partners and dealer groups, including negotiating contracts and pricing
  • Ensure we are optimally set-up with all OEMs and dealers to maximize vehicle discounts, rebates and incentives for the benefit of both customers and Inspiration
  • Serve as our in-house expert on vehicle and OEM trends and events, advising customers and customer-facing internal teams on latest developments, recommending vehicles or OEMs for specific use-cases as well as projecting vehicle costs and capabilities in the future
  • Build out upfitting capabilities, including advising customers on vehicle and upfit decisions, translating customer use cases into practical, impactful fleet solutions, and building strategic relationships with major upfitters
  • Continue to improve our best-in-class EV remarketing platform, delivering unmatched remarketing value to our customers for electric vehicles
  • Oversee fleet operational planning and capabilities; spanning registration and titling through remarketing (including vehicle disposal workflow, selection and management of optimal remarketing channels, optimizing resale proceeds etc.), and continue to optimize and scale capabilities in support of existing and new customers, markets, and services
  • Oversee the operationalization and delivery of fleet services, such as managed maintenance, accident management, toll management and fuel/payment cards to customers and their drivers, in close collaboration with customer success, product, partnership and technology teams 
  • Lead and continue to build out a high-performing fleet operations team, including recruiting, developing talent, workforce planning, setting clear performance expectations, fostering a culture of accountability, and seeking continuous improvement
  • Build and oversee long term portfolio strategy for our fleet assets including maintaining accurate forecasts of the value of Inspiration’s fleet portfolio (in particular, residual values), tracking market trends, accounting for emerging risks and anticipated remarketing activities, and ensuring the organization and partnering teams (including Sales, Finance and Customer Success) have relevant data points to understand the financial implications of decisions related to our fleet portfolio
  • Build strong collaboration between Fleet Operations and internal teams, including Customer Success, Advisory, Product and Finance; establishing cross-functional communication norms and processes
  • With the team, continue to build out and maintain scalable processes, playbooks, and performance metrics for Fleet Operations; leveraging data and analytics to provide deep insights into ongoing performance and decision-making as well as AI and automations to continually modernize workflows 
  • Present and participate as a subject-matter expert and fleet leader in regular briefings to Inspiration’s Executive Team, periodic briefings to our Board, and in meetings of our internal Fleet Business Council and Industry Advisory Board
  • Ensure the team remains current on emerging trends and proactively adjust fleet operations strategies to enable positive outcomes for Inspiration and our customers 

Who You Are:

  • You are a proven people leader and can scale teams and systems to meet business demand
  • You have a minimum of 15 years of fleet operations experience across multiple vehicle types, with multiple years of work experience in a fleet management company (FMC)
  • You have managed and possess a deep understanding of the stages of the fleet lifecycle from acquisition, vehicle onboarding, lease termination and remarketing 
  • Ideally, you have direct experience with vehicle modifications and upfit, including direct interaction with upfitters, OEMs, or specialty equipment installers
  • You have an interest in, or experience with, electric vehicles and EV-specific upfit considerations
  • You are comfortable speaking the language of OEMs, engineers, dealers, upfitters, and fleet customers, and can explain outcomes to all stakeholders
  • You are highly detail-oriented, methodical, and accountable, knowing that small errors can create major operational and financial issues downstream
  • You can work independently and are an excellent collaborator with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Finance and Customer Success
  • With an understanding of the company's primary goals and objectives, you actively look for ways to leverage data and relationships from your function to support our goals

Salary: Base $200,000-250,000 + bonus eligible  


Location: Based in, or regular travel to, our Washington, D.C. headquarters where our team works in-office Tuesday through Thursday
