What You'll Do:
- Create warm first impressions by greeting guests and guiding them through our space
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness through proactive pre-bussing, surface cleaning, and organization Support bar and service teams with stocking, glassware management, and operational flow
- Manage phone inquiries, reservations, and private event bookings professionally
- Monitor dining room capacity and communicate guest flow updates to the team
- Support special events, private functions, and peak service periods with flexibility

Utility - MadTree Parks & Rec (Blue Ash, OH)
LOCATION: Blue Ash, OH
REPORTS TO: Front of House Manager
STATUS: Seasonal, Part-Time (Non-Exempt - Hourly)
COMPENSATION RANGE: $5.50 per hour, plus tips.
SCHEDULE: Part-Time | Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
POSITION SUMMARY: The Utility position is essential to creating warm and welcoming experiences that exceed guest expectations while supporting front-of-house operations. As a key support role, they ensure smooth service execution across bar, dining, and event spaces. They will be an avid MadTree ambassador who lives the behaviors – Connect, Grow, and Give a F*ck.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Guest Experience & Front of House
- Provide warm, genuine greetings to all arriving guests and create positive first impressions
- Guide guests through self-seating process and provide clear information about facility layout, offerings, and events
- Manage reservation systems, private event bookings, and waiting lists during peak periods
- Answer phone calls professionally and handle inquiries about menu items, allergens, dietary restrictions, and upcoming events
- Monitor dining room flow and communicate capacity updates to service team
- Handle guest questions, concerns, and special requests with professionalism and grace
- Process to-go orders and merchandise sales efficiently
Cleanliness & Facility Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness standards through diligent pre-bussing, prompt clearing of dishes and glassware, and consistent surface cleaning
- Execute proper glassware handling including washing, polishing, and organizing
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all guest areas including dining room, bar, outdoor spaces, restrooms, and storage areas
- Perform consistent floor maintenance and ensure entrance and waiting areas remain clean and organized
- Assist with deep cleaning projects and scheduled maintenance tasks
- Support composting, waste, and recycling programs
Operational Support
- Support bar operations through stocking, organization, and maintenance of supplies
- Monitor and maintain adequate supply levels of serviceware, garnishes, and cleaning materials
- Assist with food delivery and table maintenance during service periods
- Transport and properly store kegs, supplies, and equipment safely
- Maintain organized storage areas with proper rotation of supplies
- Execute opening and closing procedures across all service areas
- Coordinate with service team to ensure smooth guest experiences
- Support special events setup and breakdown
- Execute proper safety and sanitation procedures consistently
Company Culture & Professional Development
- Enthusiastically participate in a minimum of 8 hours per year of paid volunteer work for MadTree Impact initiatives
- Complete assigned training programs and maintain current knowledge of facility operations, menu offerings, and events
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties, accountabilities, and responsibilities satisfactorily. - High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years high-volume bar/restaurant experience preferred
- Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance record
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Helpful but not required):
- Experience in high-volume bar or restaurant environments
- Familiarity with reservation management systems
- Previous experience with beer, wine, or craft beverage service
- Knowledge of allergen protocols and dietary restrictions
