About the role

The Plumbing Superintendent will oversee all plumbing activities on-site to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, codes, and quality standards. The role includes supervising plumbing foremen, crews, coordinating with subcontractors and other disciplines, and ensuring materials and manpower are efficiently managed.

What you'll do

✅Supervise and coordinate all on-site plumbing activities and personnel.

✅Oversee all mechanical piping works

✅Review plumbing drawings, specifications, and scope of work to plan installation and repair schedules.

✅Support submittal reviews and mock-ups

✅Ensure that all plumbing installations are done according to relevant codes (e.g., IPC, UPC, UFC) and safety regulations.

✅Enforce site safety in compliance with EM 385-1-1 and participate in toolbox talks.

✅Support Project Manager in building an in-house plumbing team structure that balances leadership, hands-on experience, and administrative control

✅Plan installation sequences and construction methods in coordination with the Project Manager, other superintendents at site and QC team.

✅Identify and raise requests for required tools, testing equipment, and special materials well in advance to avoid delays.

✅Demonstrate proactive planning and early coordination with procurement, logistics, and scheduling teams

✅Manage and track material requests, delivery schedules, and inventory.

✅Coordinate plumbing interfaces with other trades (HVAC, electrical, civil, medical gas, RO/DI water systems, or clean utilities) to avoid clashes and ensure smooth workflow.

✅Inspect work progress to ensure quality control and adherence to project timelines.

✅Liaise with QC and safety teams on testing, flushing, chlorination, and pressure testing protocols.

✅Resolve on-site issues or escalate as needed to the General Site Superintendent and Project Manager.

✅Prepare daily reports, progress updates, and time sheets for plumbing crews.

✅Provide technical guidance and training to plumbing supervisors, workers and subcontractors.

✅Participate in safety meetings and enforce proper safety procedures at the job site.

✅Support commissioning and testing of plumbing systems, including pressure tests, leak checks, and fixture inspections.

✅Track as-built documentation, redlines, and support O&M package prep.
