Electrical Engineer

About Mytra:

We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.

About the role:

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of electrical systems for our autonomous platforms. You have a passion for hands-on hardware development and are eager to expand your skills across power systems, sensors, communication networks, and motor control in real-world robotic applications.

You'll design and own electrical subsystems from schematic through production, working collaboratively with systems, firmware, and mechanical engineers. You'll tackle challenging problems spanning compute platforms, sensor integration, power distribution, actuators, and communication protocols—gaining broad exposure to the full stack of technologies that bring autonomous systems to life. This is an opportunity to grow quickly, ship impactful hardware, and work alongside experienced engineers who are invested in your development.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and own electrical subsystems from concept through production, potentially including power systems, motor control, communication, sensing, and mixed-signal electronics
  • Drive the full lifecycle of PCB designs through schematic capture, layout, design reviews, bring-up, validation, and manufacturing release
  • Work closely with the systems, mechanical, firmware, and autonomy teams to integrate electrical systems into ruggedized robotic platforms
  • Apply best practices for thermal management, EMI/EMC mitigation, vibration tolerance, and drive design for reliability, manufacturability, and field serviceability
  • Lead debug, rework, and validation of boards using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
  • Support firmware bring up and integration, contribute to reviews and technical documentation, and share learnings with the team

Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering (or related field) with 2-5 years of hands-on hardware experience, OR MS with 0-2 years
  • Experience taking electrical hardware from prototype to production
  • Strong foundation in power electronics, digital/analog circuit design, or motor control systems
  • Hands-on proficiency with PCB design/ review tools (Altium, KiCad, OrCAD, Allspice or similar)
  • Experience with board bring-up, debugging, and validation in a lab environment
  • Solid understanding of design for manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and cost optimization
  • Self-driven and comfortable working independently with periodic guidance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to robotics, mobile platforms, or autonomous systems
  • Familiarity with sensor integration (cameras, Lidar, IMU) and associated signal conditioning
  • Experience with embedded firmware development (C/C++) or bare-metal/RTOS environments
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508) or high-reliability design practices
  • Track record of shipping hardware that operates reliably in challenging real-world conditions

A Final Note:

You’re encouraged to apply even if you can’t take on every example project in its totality. We work closely and collaboratively at Mytra - No one takes on projects alone. We seek people who are eager to work together, learn new things, and bring unique perspectives.

Benefits Include:

  • Competitive compensation and equity grants at a high-growth company backed by top-tier VCs
  • Fully subsidized health coverage, including medical (baseline plans), dental, and vision for employees and dependents
  • 401(k) plans and employer-subsidized life insurance
  • Fully subsidized lunch and snacks at HQ—we eat and share stories together at the “long” table
  • Generous PTO and company-paid holidays, including one week over the winter break so everyone can recharge together
  • Voluntary pet insurance, Voluntary Life Insurance, Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity
  • Fully subsidized tax advisory services and education to help you understand your equity
  • Commuter benefits, including a up to $150 monthly commuter benefit
  • Lively, modern combined office and lab space where we rapidly iterate through design, build, and test phases
  • Fully equipped onsite gym and showers at headquarters
