About the role

The Accounts Payable Coordinator is an entry-level role responsible for supporting daily AP operations, including managing the shared accounting email inbox, processing vendor invoices in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365), and preparing vendor payments through our banking platform. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is detail oriented, eager to learn, and ready to develop foundational accounting skills in a dynamic, growing company. 


As the company implements additional automation within D365 and expands operations, this position will gain exposure to more complex AP and accounting processes, providing strong opportunities for professional growth. 

What you'll do

  • Accounts Payable Operations 
  • Monitor and manage the accounting email inbox, triaging invoices, vendor communications, and internal requests.  
  • Review and process vendor invoices in Microsoft D365 ensuring accuracy, proper coding, timely entry, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. 
  • Maintain organized electronic records for invoices, payments, and vendor documentation.  
  • Assist with verifying vendor statements and resolving discrepancies. 
  • Assist with 1099 process and maintaining vendor files.  

Vendor Payments 

  • Prepare and process vendor payments through the company’s banking platform.  
  • Ensure payments comply with internal controls and approval requirements.  
  • Communicate with vendors regarding payment timing, remittances, or outstanding items. 
  • Transition vendors from check to ACH payment method. 

Month-End Responsibilities 

  • Reconcile Accounts Payable sub-ledger to the General Ledger, identifying and resolving any variances. 
  • Review open PO and invoice aging to ensure completeness and accuracy of accruals. 
  • Identify invoices requiring month-end accruals and prepare supporting documentation. 
  • Assist with generating AP aging and month end reporting for management. 
  • Support the accounting team with other month-end activities as needed. 

Process & System Development  

  • Assist in documentation and refinement of AP procedures.  
  • Support future D365 automation initiatives, gaining experience with workflow optimization and system enhancements. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts as Niron Magnetics grows

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.  
  • Ability to manage a high volume of emails and tasks with reliability and professionalism.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook). 
  • Basic understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. 
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP system  
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, start-up environment. 
  • Interest in building a career in accounting and developing AP expertise.

Our pay and benefits:

  • Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on education, experience and skills
