About the Role

Berkeley Ironworks is hiring for a Tuesday early morning fitness instructor.

This position includes a three month probationary period to ensure the role is a good fit for both the instructor and our fitness community. During this period, we may decide to move in a different direction if needed.

The instructor will lead group fitness classes and support members and guests through safe, effective, and motivating workouts.

Responsibilities include:

• Design and lead safe, effective exercise programs for participants of all fitness levels.
• Instruct group fitness classes with clarity, energy, and inclusivity.
• Support participants in achieving their fitness goals by providing guidance and encouragement.
• Maintain a clean and functional environment by ensuring equipment is sanitized and in good working condition; report any concerns to management.
• Clean up after class, tidying, mopping floor and wiping down equipment as needed.
• Use Rippling for accurate and timely time entry.
• Arrange substitutes for any missed classes.
• Respond to emails promptly to maintain clear and professional communication.

Qualifications

• Certified Group Fitness Instructor
• Experience as a group class instructor
• Flexible in teaching styles and modalities
• (Available to teach Mondays and Wednesday at scheduled class times)

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certifications in relevant areas such as Spin, Yoga, Pilates, or Strength and Conditioning
• Experience with a variety of training modalities such as HIIT, strength training, and cardio
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate and inspire clients to achieve their fitness goals

Compensation

Starting Pay is $35.00/hour. Fitness Instructor individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to; facility location and type, membership volume, experience, and job/position tenure.
