About UnityAI
UnityAI is a Series A startup building the future of healthcare operations. With over $14M raised, we’re on a mission to accelerate and perfect the work of care. Our autonomous healthcare systems take on the work that slows health systems down—like patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and care coordination—so that our customers can focus on what matters most: caring for patients.
Why we're hiring
After a successful Series A fundraise, our leadership team is looking to operationalize our growth strategy, mature our internal processes as we scale, and establish UnityAI as a category leader in autonomous operations.
You will oversee the operational infrastructure of the company, ensuring regulatory compliance, financial discipline, and effective vendor relationships. You will coordinate with external partners (legal, accounting, compliance, etc.) while owning the internal processes that ensure work is completed on time and aligned with company goals.
As a key addition to the Operations team, you’ll play an essential role in building the foundation that allows the company to scale.
In this role, you'll help lead:
Compliance & Legal Operations
- Partner with external legal counsel, audit firms, and consultants to ensure the company maintains regulatory compliance to HIPAA, TCPA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.
- Coordinate and build processes to manage compliance timelines, checklists, and ongoing monitoring processes.
- Maintain and track audit-ready documentation, policies, and training requirements.
Finance & Administrative Operations
- Partner with our fractional CFO, accounting, and tax vendors to ensure financial processes run smoothly.
- Ensure completion of recurring financial tasks including:
- Monthly close coordination
- Tax filings and reporting
- Healthcare benefits and insurance admin
- Oversee invoicing, billing workflows, and revenue ops.
- Monitor operational budgets and KPIs to identify areas for efficiency.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Build and manage relationships with external vendors including legal, compliance, finance, software providers, insurance, and operational partners.
- Organize and negotiate vendor agreements and renewals.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Serve as a trusted operational partner to the founders and leadership team.
- Create documentation, SOPs, and internal processes that support company growth.
- Identify gaps in systems, compliance, or process before they become problems, and proactively implement solutions.
What you'll need to be successful:
We value demonstrable knowledge and the ability to deliver real-world solutions above formal education. Candidates are expected to have experience and/or an interest in learning:
- 5+ years in operations or business operations roles with experience managing or coordinating regulatory compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
- Financial acumen to manage processes such as invoicing, vendor payments, and revenue tracking.
- Highly organized with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment with evolving processes.
Preferred:
- Experience operating within healthcare, SaaS, or data-sensitive industries.
- Familiarity with business, tax, or regulatory considerations specific to Tennessee.
- Experience scaling operational infrastructure for growing companies.
Additional values, skills, and mindsets include:
- Do good: You solve problems and do the right things to move healthcare forward. You dig deep to enable our company and product’s success, knowing this will help our customers do the important work of caring for patients.
- Extreme ownership: You own everything in your world. When you find an issue that needs to be handled, your first thought is to take ownership and get it done.
- Humble nerd: You're unreasonably curious—about the tech, about healthcare, about our customers. You set your ego aside and learn from others to do the best job possible.
- Velocity and delivery: You ship solutions efficiently and effectively, with an executive level of polish. You sweat the details without losing sight of the big picture.
- Adaptability: We’re in a stage of rapid experimentation and prototyping, so you will need to be comfortable with ambiguity, change, and uncertainty. Your key priority may change tomorrow; if that doesn’t excite you, this may not be the right fit.
