Senior Full Stack Engineer (Community & Creator Platform)

About Workweek

Workweek is reimagining how business leaders create, connect, and collaborate. We’re solving the knowledge expert paradox: the idea that the more experienced a business leader becomes, the harder it is to access their knowledge. We’re fixing that by building Operator Networks—professional communities where verified leaders share high-signal insights. We’re reimagining what a social network can be: not built for attention, but for expertise.

Our Approach

At Workweek, we build brands and audiences in specialized B2B sectors by providing expert content crafted by industry practitioners who have actually done the job. Once credibility and a sizable audience are established through our unique content, we further support these sectors by offering exclusive professional memberships. These memberships provide category-leading value, enabling leaders to connect with peers, access a comprehensive library of educational content, and utilize tools and services that streamline daily operations.

About the role

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you are the technical driver of the Workweek Creator Engine. You will be responsible for defining the patterns that turn industry experts into creators. This is a high-ownership role where you will balance the immediate execution of our creator roadmap with the long-term architectural health of our "Anti-Social" community network.

What you'll do

  • Architect Multi-Tenant Infrastructure: You will own the "topography" of our platform routing. This means designing and implementing the systems for wildcard DNS and subdomain provisioning that ensure every creator has a performant, personalized home.
  • Design Event-Driven Pipelines: Beyond just building APIs, you will architect the flow of data through AWS EventBridge, SQS, and Lambda. You’ll ensure our analytics and publishing pipelines are resilient, scalable, and future-proofed.
  • Maintain & Evolve the Technical North Star: You will help define the architectural patterns the rest of the team follows. You aren't just building a feed; you are optimizing a social graph and real-time WebSocket architecture for high-signal interaction.
  • AI-Native Engineering Leadership: As an AI-first company, you will set the bar for how we use Claude and Cursor. You’ll pioneer workflows that use AI to automate boilerplate, allowing you to focus on high-level system design.
  • Drive Product Discovery: You are a partner, not an order-taker. You are expected to bring technical curiosity to every spec—probing for "unspoken" requirements like data consistency in real-time feeds or the downstream impacts of schema changes on creator analytics. You ask the questions that product and design haven't thought of yet.

Qualifications

  • 6+ Years Experience: Proven track record building consumer social apps or content publishing tools in fast-moving, high-agency environments.
  • TypeScript Mastery: Deep expertise in Node.js, React, and relational database design. You write clean, type-safe code that balances speed with maintainability.
  • Infrastructure Fluency: You are operationally self-sufficient. Proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation is a huge plus, as you’ll manage the cloud resources for your own services.
  • Pragmatic Problem Solver: You know when to hit the primary database and when to use Redis for caching. You make smart trade-offs between "quick wins" and long-term improvements.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay (we don't pay based on location, we assign value to the role)
  • Equity in Workweek
  • Remote operations with the ability to work in the time zone of your choice (or work IRL in our Austin, TX office)
  • Unlimited PTO with a minimum of 3 days/quarter used
