About the role
The Project Scheduler supports the planning, development, monitoring, and analysis of project schedules and related performance metrics for industrial construction projects. This role is based in Duluth, GA, with travel required to active project sites as needed. This role partners closely with project management, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure schedules are accurate, resource-loaded, and aligned with project execution plans.
The Scheduler plays a key role in tracking progress, identifying schedule risks, analyzing variances, and supporting data-driven decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires strong technical scheduling skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Primavera P6.
What you'll do
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6, including logic ties, sequencing, and critical path analysis.
- Assist in creating baseline schedules, schedule updates, and recovery schedules as needed.
- Monitor schedule progress, identify variances, and communicate impacts to the project team.
- Support schedule forecasting, including manpower and productivity trends.
- Assist in schedule analysis related to delays, changes, and scope adjustments.
- Assist with coding and tracking purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, quantities, and actual expenditures within the cost control system.
- Perform quantity take-offs and monitor percent complete for assigned work items.
- Support the preparation of cost and schedule comparison reports for internal and client use.
- Prepare schedule status reports, progress dashboards, and variance analyses in accordance with project and client requirements.
- Assist in developing subcontractor and craft productivity reports to support schedule and manpower planning.
- Support preparation of special studies or reports requested by project management or clients.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure schedules reflect actual field conditions.
- Support adherence to corporate safety policies and promote safe work practices within assigned responsibilities.
- Assist in upholding corporate quality standards by identifying potential issues early and supporting corrective actions.
- Support scheduling for assigned portions of a project under guidance from senior schedulers or project controls leadership.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on project or organizational needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in heavy industrial or commercial construction scheduling and/or project controls.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience and proficiency with Primavera P6 in a construction environment.
- Foundational knowledge of CPM scheduling principles, cost and budget tracking, resource and manpower forecasting.
- Basic understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Desired skills
- 1–3 years of experience supporting schedules on industrial, manufacturing, clean room, or process-driven projects.
- Experience supporting cost-loaded or resource-loaded schedules.
- Familiarity with earned value concepts and schedule performance metrics.
- Exposure to client-facing schedule reporting and updates.
- Proficiency with Excel and project reporting tools.
