About the role

As a Accounting Manager, you’ll lead a team of Senior Accounting Specialists, ensuring accuracy, mentoring talent, and overseeing smooth client handoffs. This high-impact role combines technical expertise, leadership, and process improvement to elevate client experience and support the firm’s growth. What you'll do

  • Operational Leadership
    • Oversee the performance and deliverables of Senior Accounting Specialists, ensuring accuracy in month-end close, reporting, and advanced accounting tasks.
    • Conduct regular reviews of client books and validate transitions from catch-up/initialization to maintenance, ensuring accuracy, proper scoping, and clean handoffs.
    • Build, document, and refine SOPs and workflows aligned with Uplinq’s automation-first approach.
  • People Development & Mentoring
    • Mentor team members in accrual accounting, job costing, inventory, and class/location reporting.
    • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and create clear growth paths.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Client & Process Management
    • Act as an escalation point for complex client issues and join key client meetings as needed.
    • Ensure clients consistently experience accuracy, professionalism, and clear insights.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen integrations, and scale best practices.

Qualifications

  • Active CPA license required.
  • 7+ years of accounting experience (small business or firm-based), with at least 3 years supervising or mentoring accounting professionals.
  • Advanced QuickBooks Online expertise with complex workflows and third-party integrations.
  • Deep knowledge of accrual accounting, GAAP, job costing, inventory, and class/location reporting.
  • Proven track record of leading teams, improving processes, and driving quality.

The pay range for this role is:

95,000 - 115,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
