Project Controls Engineer

  • Responsibilities include assisting the engineer in providing interpretation of plans and specifications, resolving non-conformance issues as they arise. In addition to extensive knowledge of owner requirements, construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders to assist with change orders, expediting material, preparing project estimates, maintains project cost control, initiates close-out activities, and similar functions.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize knowledge of owner requirements, construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders to ensure construction conformance in assigned area.
  • Coordinate change orders, expedite material, prepare project estimates, maintain project cost control, initiate close-out activities, and similar functions.
  • Perform assignments designed to develop professional engineering work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.
  • Perform special studies or analyses of specific portions of a project; study will include research, investigation or coordination.
  • Act as the first line of quality check in assigned discipline(s) and work area.
  • Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
  • Provide technical engineering information to company supervision, subcontractors, and crafts to ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards.
  • Interpret design / drawings for subcontractors and crafts installing material and equipment.
  • Research, recommend resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference, and errors.
  • Verify all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, specifications.
  • Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists describing work items to be done, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, etc. to supervisor.
  • May provide technical support and direction of project material control functions including implementation and operation of maintenance program.
  • May prepare site drawings and sketches to support as-built construction work, change orders, estimates, etc.
  • May provide necessary building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials.
  • Responsible for safe working conditions within his / her assigned area of authority through the execution of the corporate safety procedures and adherence to established safe practices.
  • Responsible for the understanding, execution, and enforcement of corporate quality standards within his / her assigned area of authority by identifying potential problems early and ensuring the project and company’s quality commitments are met.
  • Assume additional responsibilities or assignments per supervisor’s and / or corporate direction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, Minimum 1 year construction experience.
  • Exposure to procurement, contract administration, designs, schedule, cost budgets, and quality helpful.
