Position Location: Mesa, AZ
Overview
Responsible for the early phases of construction projects, overseeing scope development, site evaluations, planning, estimating, scheduling, and budgeting. Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, architects, and clients to prepare accurate and cost-effective proposals that meet expectations and budget requirements. Support business development by participating in client meetings and early-stage project discussions, while building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors. Utilize industry-standard tools to analyze risks, prepare cost estimates, and update budgets and schedules throughout the preconstruction phase.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the project team to develop project scope, objectives, and strategies during the preconstruction phase.
- Conduct thorough site evaluations and analysis to identify potential challenges, risks, and opportunities.
- Participate in business development activities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, material quantities, and timelines for project proposals.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Utilize industry-standard software for estimating, scheduling, and project management.
- Present preconstruction proposals and recommendations to clients, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Continuously monitor and update project budgets, schedules, and specifications throughout the preconstruction phase.
- Actively participate in business development activities, including client meetings, early-stage project discussions, and relationship-building efforts.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and potential subcontractors to support ongoing market expansion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably in industrial or commercial projects.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical knowledge of building construction trades.
- Ability to engage directly with clients and subcontractors, and participate in early-stage business development efforts.
