QC Inspector I
Job Summary
The Quality Inspector I is responsible for auditing and inspecting purchased parts and goods to ensure they meet ESS Metron standards and specifications before being placed into inventory. Conducting routine parts inspections and audits, the Quality Inspector I will verify that all received parts meet specification and document any damage to received parts. The Quality Inspector I will be responsible for ensuring that all received and kitted parts are ready for distribution to projects on the production floor. The Quality Inspector I will also begin to learn the critical control points and inspections of the production team in preparation for advancement into a Quality Inspector II role.
Essential Duties
· Perform all duties in a safe manner and promotes “Safety First” mentality across team
· Manage all incoming inspections for parts, equipment including visual and functional testing
· Perform quality checks on all incoming received parts and document any deficiencies, damage, or concerns
· Perform electrical and mechanical functional tests on all received parts to confirm that no damage was sustained during shipping and record results on appropriate reports
· Coordinate with receiving team to ensure proper labeling is documents on packaging verifying that the received parts meet Quality Standard
· Perform basic dimensional inspections on parts using micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, etc. to ensure parts meet specifications
· Create nonconformance reports for parts that do not meet product specifications
· Inform appropriate management and production team members of rejected parts
· Escalate and report all non-compliances identified across inspection points to QA management in a timely manner
· Begin to learn the in-line production checklist procedures for product lines of the business
Required / Preferred Education & Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Two years of experience measuring electrical components in a manufacturing capacity or related field preferred
QC Inspector II
Job Summary
The Quality Inspector II is responsible for auditing and inspecting manufactured parts and goods to ensure they meet ESS Metron standards and specifications. Conducting routine parts inspections and audits of goods the Quality Inspector II will help identify deficiencies in process and training to ensure the continuous improvement of quality in the manufacturing process. The Quality Inspector II will be in charge of collecting data and helping analyze the trends, and root causes of failures in process to reduce defects and non-conformance to ESS Metron Standards and work with the Quality team to address identified issues.
Essential Duties
· Perform all duties in a safe manner and promotes “Safety First” mentality across team
· Responsible for managing all quality pass and fail decision points for in-process and finished products, including fabricated material and assemblies
· Perform quality check in department to verify that product meets company standard and specification
· Perform verification of assembled parts by conducting torque checks and other industry or customer specific measurements to ensure they meet standard
· Perform visual inspections of assembled products or subassemblies to identify any potential assembly defects
· Perform dimensional inspections on parts using micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, etc. to ensure parts meet specifications
· Create nonconformance reports for parts that do not meet product specifications
· Inform appropriate management and production team members of rejected parts
· Complete first article logs and properly save them to the Quality tracking system
· Assigned as needed for essential duties of QA Inspector I to support business priorities
· Escalate and report all non-compliances identified across inspection points to QA management in a timely manner
Required / Preferred Education & Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Some undergraduate coursework completed in Engineering or related field preferred
· 2-4 years of experience in measuring electrical components in a manufacturing capacity or related field preferred
QC Inspector III
Job Summary
The Quality Inspector III is responsible for supporting daily inspection activity and ensuring coordination between management and inspection team to document and resolve nonconformities. The Quality Inspector III will be in charge of completing assessments of existing inspection processes as well as assisting in the implementation of new processes to make the department more accurate and efficient. This position will support management objectives and scheduling, as well as train and mentor new QA team members.
Essential Duties
· Perform all duties in a safe manner and promotes “Safety First” mentality across team
· Responsible for managing all quality pass and fail decision points for in-process and finished products, including fabricated material and assemblies
· Support management with day-to-day QA schedules to align inspection team tasks with master production schedules and priority jobs
· Perform routine and ad-hoc assessments of current and newly implemented inspection processes and data points across all inspection areas to confirm viability and compliance
· Identify and propose improvements for operational gaps based on available data and/or involve management to further investigate questionable or unknown deficiencies including inventory, fabrication, assembly, logistics and engineering among other business functions
· Create nonconformance reports for parts that do not meet product specifications
· Inform appropriate management and production team members of rejected parts
· Complete first article logs and properly save them to the Quality tracking system
· First line escalation point for all inspection non-compliance cases to evaluate with Operational Excellence Management for devising corrective action
· Assigned as needed for essential duties of QA Inspector I & II to support business priorities
Required / Preferred Education & Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Associate’s Degree in Engineering or related field preferred
· 4-8 years of experience in measuring electrical components in a manufacturing capacity or related field preferred
The pay range for this role is:
25 - 30 USD per hour (ESS Metron - Denver, CO)
