Lighthouse Senior Living is an assisted living facility located in Ellicott City.
The Maintenance Technician / Driver is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning assisted living facility while also providing transportation services for residents. This role supports resident comfort, safety, and independence by ensuring building systems operate properly and residents are transported safely to appointments, outings, and errands.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections of facility equipment and common areas
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs
- Maintain grounds, including basic landscaping, snow removal, trash removal, and exterior cleanliness
- Assist with room turnovers, including painting, patching, and basic carpentry
- Monitor and report larger repair needs or safety hazards to management
- Maintain maintenance logs and service records
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, fire codes, and infection control standards
- Safely transport residents to medical appointments, community outings, and other scheduled destinations
- Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed
- Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and properly maintained
- Conduct routine vehicle safety checks and report any issues
- Follow all traffic laws and facility transportation policies
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and schedules
Qualifications
Required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience in general maintenance, facilities, or building operations
- Ability to work with residents in a respectful, patient, and compassionate manner
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic computer or mobile device skills for work orders and logs
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs or ladders
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
